.) Maintain my positive attitude, and not just when things are going well. More often than not I’ve spent the last three years giving the temporary phases of unabashed happiness, then life happens with the negative material and suddenly I abandoned those hopeful aspirations at the drop of a dime. I refuse to abide by that principle again. I know most people are wary of my “positive” rants, or suggestions, but I am not doing it for them. I am doing it for myself. I have a choice to be happy, even when all might seem lost, but I still have plenty to be thankful for every day.
.) Release my five book series, Echoes of Earth, throughout the course of the year, completing the series by December 2012. The five books already have their titles. Now it’s just time to write the damn thing, but I am excited for this literary endeavor. It’s a modified version of the original Shards of Eternity trilogy I had in mind, but that in world in itself - with its vast collection of characters - deserves its own respective series.
The Echoes of Earth series is a completely different storyline that doesn’t have any ties with my first novel, The Farthest Land, but I am far more excited for this than I was for the original idea I had in mind, as the ideas for this particular story are flowing at an easier pace. I don’t prefer one idea, or theme, over the other, but if the ideas are running easier with this (and I know this stroke of good luck is not permanent, but I will continue to enjoy the ease it brings to the writing process), then I am going to use this particular frame of time to the best of my ability.
.) Going back to school to start my dual major in English and Audio Engineering. I am looking at Citrus College. The whole goal is to get my AA and certified by two years and then continuing on at a four-year institution with a credible entertainment journalism program.
.) Exercise at the gym. Most people work so hard to lose the fat. I feel fortunate I don’t have any, so my excuses are irrelevant. Plus, when I did workout I felt great and started to see some notable changes to my body. I am youthful still and I need to embrace that and improve myself for my health and well-being. Not for the approval of others.
.) Reading far more. I find when I read I am inspired, I learn so much and take so many different perspectives into account. I feel as an aspiring author that is extremely important. I know to enhance my craft as a writer, I must read more.
